Our engineers here at THOR Racing have unveiled another bespoke engineering solution to allow owners of the Lexus IS200 or Toyota Altezza to fit a superior engine and gearbox from the Toyota stable!
Our beautifully fabricated steel engine and gearbox mounts allow owners to fit the Lexus 1UZ 4.0 V8 engine from the LS400 to the smaller car, creating an accomplished all-rounder with plenty of grunt. The mounts have been designed and produced in-house and convert the engine into a true 'bolt in' conversion, mounting to both the OEM inner wing mounts and the original engine mounts of the replacement lump.
Of course, knowing that the standard transmissions isn't up to the job, we have also developed a range of gearbox conversion packages and mounts to allow either the original auto trans from the LS 400 or the extremely capable R154 or W58 manual transmissions to be fitted. Again, the mounts allow the new 'boxes to bolt straight in and are individually tailored for each application.
We can also offer a shift extension package for certain variants of the transmissions that don't place the shifter in the perfect position in the cockpit. This situates the gear lever in its exact OEM position in the centre console.
We can also offer any finishing details including a range of high performance diff and propshaft options to allow almost any Toyota powertrain cocktail to be created.
