Link MAP Sensors are manufactured in both 5V & 12V Variants. Link Wire-in ECU's use 5V MAP Sensors.

Link Map Sensors are rated in absolute pressure which means that a 5 bar sensor will read atmospheric pressure (1 bar) plus 4 bar of positive pressure e.g. boost pressure.

The normal MAP Sensor as shipped with the LinkPlus XLEMG3 is the 2.5 bar MAP sensor. The LEMG3 MAP sensor is contained within the enclosure and comes in 2.5 Bar and 5 Bar options.

MAP sensor description

A map (manifold absolute pressure) sensor is a component used in the speed-density method to accurately determine the mass of air entering an engine.

Accurate and precise air mass measurement is required to meter fuel mass in a manner that will achieve acceptable emissions under all operating conditions.

The Map sensor monitors intake manifold pressure (engine load ). The change in manifold air pressure is measured to determine the load on the engine, a high vacuum reading indicates a low load and a low vacuum or positive pressure (boost) indicates a high load.
