OS Giken

RACING PERFORMANCE by OS Giken
Through the research and development of high performance engines, OS Giken realized that the production of durable, higher quality clutch systems is essential. OS multi plate clutches can transmit increased engine revs and torque output to the drivetrain without loss. The research and development has been continued since the first introduction the OS Giken clutch series in 1983. They are made from the highest quality materials, with durability that is second to none. The extensive model line up is sure to meet your needs and produce the best result for your engine.
Distinctive Features of OS Giken Multi Plate Clutches
Despite using smaller plate diameter, OS Giken clutches achieve efficient power transmission, along with better engine response. Revising the factory leverage mechanism of the diaphragm spring provides higher pressure on the clutch discs while reducing pedal effort. Ventilation holes are designed to reduce heat generated inside the clutch housing. These holes also let friction plate dust out of the clutch system, increasing reliability and safety. The OS Racing Clutch friction plates are made of heat-treated metal. These materials are carefully selected and alloyed so that the plates match with the flywheel and center plate material to improve durability.

STR twin-plate clutches
The New OS Giken STR series can handle up to 550hp, yet retains drivability very close to standard with 30% lighter pedal effort than most multi-plate clutches. By using special new plate and diaphragm designs, OS Giken has achieved ample power handling with just 715kg clamping pressure. This makes the STR series perfect for everyday driving applications, along with most race and drift applications. For drag racing applications, please refer to our competition twin plate line-up.
The clutches come complete with lightweight chrome-moly flywheel, ruby red-anodised billet aluminium clutch cover and the required bearing/carrier set or pull-push converter kit where required.
Competition twin-plate clutches
Featuring a higher clamping load than our STR series, the competition twin-plate clutches below are designed specifically for racing applications including drag racing. Power handling capacity varies according to the specific model. As a general guide A-size clutches are recommended for up to 430hp, B-size for up to 480hp and C-size for up to 600hp, however power handling will vary up or down depending on the torque characteristics of your engine. Please contact us to check if these clutches will suit your application. Each clutch comes with a lightweight chrome-moly flywheel and the required bearing/carrier set or pull-push converter kit where required.
R3C triple-plate clutches
For drag racing and other extreme applications, the R3C triple-plate offers up to 850hp power handling in a lightweight and compact clutch system. Using a floating hub design also makes the clutch cheaper to rebuild. The clamping pressure of 1090kg is still acceptable for street driving, while offering great resistance to slip in drag applications.
All versions feature a lightweight chrome-moly flywheel and gold-anodised billet aluminium clutch cover. The prices listed include the necessary bearing/carrier set or pull-push converter kit as required.
R4C quad-plate clutches
For the most extreme drag-racing applications, while retaining street drivability, the OS Giken R4C clutch is unbeatable. Power handling is well in excess of 1000hp. In fact, it has been tested in drag cars with over 1200hp with no slip apparent. However, due to the multi-plate design, it is still surprisingly drivable for street applications, retaining the same clamping force as the R3C design. Like the R3C, it uses a lightweight chrome-moly flywheel, gold-anodised billet aluminium clutch cover and the necessary bearing/carrier set or pull-push converter kit as required.
