Handle The Pressure!
When tuning a turbocharged car with an aftermarket ECU, many mappers look to 'pulse' the boost control solenoid to finely tune boost levels and characteristics. This allows air to 'bleed' from the turbocharger circuit, allowing higher boost levels to be achieved by the 'charger before the wastegate opens.The problem comes in the fact that almost every factory boost control solenoid will soon take a dim view of being treated in such a manner. OEM units are designed to be either on or off, and subjecting them to rapid pulsing will usually cause total failure and subsequent boost control issues.
The THOR kit is purpose built for the rigours of ECU-controlled abuse and the comprehensive kit contains everything needed to upgrade, including the solenoid itself, barbed fitting, clips, mounting bracket, all the clips and silicone hose. Once connected to the appropriate ECU channel, the solenoid's function can be finely tuned to provide delicate levels of control.
